From the Art Direction Archives, #1

I've been thinking about my time in New York and my first big job there, working as an art director in the advertising department of Macy's. We were all so young then! But the work was always good, sometimes amazing. I designed this New York Times campaign for the juniors department and it ran for over a year. This particular ad was shot by a young Mario Testino and styled by Lori Goldstein. I look back at that shoot and remember very clearly that they were both supremely talented, but even more, they were super nice, respectful and a pleasure to work with.

Prom Time: Joli Prom Ads

Just out now in the magazines Teen Prom and Seventeen Prom. I shot this series of prom ads (along with the catalog), featuring beautiful gowns designed by Christopher Henry, this summer. I still find an occasional rhinestone in the studio from this fun shoot.

Filene's Basement Last Day

Good bye Filene's Basement, on this, your last day. You were a fun place to shop
(I remember a great grey Perry Ellis suit from back in the day)
and a wonderful client for many years.
