New Boston Globe Magazine Holiday Work

Fun new cover and inside story for this Sunday's Boston Globe Magazine. This particular expression on Furby was achieved by saying "I wuv you!" Honest. And it's not the most embarrassing thing I've done for a shot.

Boston Spirit Magazine Winter Fashion: Through the Woods

New work for Boston Spirit Magazine, shot on location at Wachusetts Mountain Ski Area. You'd never guess it was a warm fall day with not a snow flake in sight. My first job with editor Scott Kearnan, styled by Evan Crothers, hair and make-up by Liz Washer.

New Boston Globe Magazine

This was a great assignment: take a trip on the Conway Scenic Train in New Hampshire and photograph the trip. It was a beautiful day and one of my best summer excursions.
Plus, lunch in the dining car. And it made the cover!

New Spirit Magazine Cover

New Spirit Magazine cover out this month. When I photographed Javier Pagan, one the first responders to the Boston bombings, I shot him from below and explained that this is called a "hero shot," but that usually I don't get to do it for real heros.

New Design New England magazine

What a wonderful day in a magical garden in Providence, Rhode Island. Tucked away in the city, you'd never expect to find such a beautiful urban oasis, with it's many small areas, each with
different plants and style. It's always so interesting (and fun) to work with Design New England Magazine. The stories we do are so varied and my favorite seems to be always the last one I did, though this one will be hard to beat.

The Bear Sessions Interview on the Huffington Post

My interview, along with John O'Connell, with Charlotte Robinson, is up on the Huffington Post today. I'm excited for the show's opening tomorrow night. We've chosen 26 images, including nine large portraits from this two-year-and-going project, The Bear Sessions. Tickets for the opening night reception, which is a benefit for the Boston Center for Adult Education, can be purchased at BCAE.org. The show runs through June 21st.

Mario Avila Design U360 Winner

I'm very excited to be part of a beautiful new campaign for Daniel Print Communications, designed by Mario Avila Design. This beautiful project, titled "Love 2" just won it's category in the U360 print awards. Not only is the piece so beautiful, but I'm thrilled to be in the same publication with photographer Torkil Gudnason. I worked with Torkil years ago when I was an art director, and I have followed and admired his work for many years. His work is not only gorgeous, but it always works on an intellectual level as well.

Design New England Magazine: The Movie!

Here's a visit to my studio with the great staff at Design New England Magazine. You'll see how a story idea comes to life and how the concept, photography, copy and design all come together to create the story. My only caveat is that I wished the broom was put away!
