You would never guess it was raining all day and the temperature never rose above 57 degrees, but I think you can tell the good spirit of the cast and crew, determined to get the shot. New! Coup Boston's First Issue

I was happy to shoot the incredibly lovely Alli Achtmeyer for the premiere issue of Coup Boston, a new fashion lifestyle magazine. I photographed Alli in her amazing Beacon Hill home and she is both quite stunning and very, very sweet. It's a good combination. Check out the magazine and my other story on Chef Wil Gilson.

April Boston Magazine

Here are two out-takes from my story in this month's Boston Magazine on the dog-washing store Durty Harry's, in Brookline, MA. At top are Michelle and Anne with Harry and Sadie, and below, Harry, being an incredibly great sport by having a second bath in one week. You can see he knows what's coming.

Design New England Magazine

I loved shooting this story on three very different, all super talented interior designers and their work spaces. Each so different, but each really inspiring. Take-away: it's good to work around beautiful things in inspiring spaces.

The assignment: sherbet colored spring shoes. The solution: 3,000 translucent gelato spoons. This project  is inspiring a whole new series of images.

New Improper Bostonian: Spring fashion

I've been thinking about my time in New York and my first big job there, working as an art director in the advertising department of Macy's. We were all so young then! But the work was always good, sometimes amazing. I designed this New York Times campaign for the juniors department and it ran for over a year. This particular ad was shot by a young Mario Testino and styled by Lori Goldstein. I look back at that shoot and remember very clearly that they were both supremely talented, but even more, they were super nice, respectful and a pleasure to work with.

This Just in from Japan

The Japanese version of Animals Make Us Human, with my author photo of the amazing Temple Grandin, just arrived yesterday.

New Boston Magazine

Believe it or not, this is more real life set and less Photoshop than you might think. We hung 150 glass balls with thin fishing line from a wood lattice, to create this effervescent champagne look. It took a weekend to get them all hung and in the end, only one broke.

Shor in Provincetown

Check out my friend Herbie's great home store in Provincetown, Shor. He has an amazing eye and has done some great interiors, including this one in the ad, that I photographed. They are always so interesting and beautiful, filled with just the object, just the right texture.

Just back from Barcelona and saw that Want'ems are out and available for sale. I shot the package photography for these new delicious snack treats! You can get them at some Whole Foods and Roche Brothers.
